Job Title: Learning Center Math Interventionist

Department: Instruction

Reports To: Managing Director of Instruction

Compensation Range: $52,500

Summary:

The Math Interventionist will be assigned to a specific Managing Director of Instruction  to provide direct student instruction for students needing tiers 2 and 3 services.They will serve as a member of their instructional team by participating in school-based professional learning communities (PLCs) /Principal team meetings.

 

The Math Interventionist will work extensively with their Managing Director of Instruction, principal,  and teachers in their team to provide direct instruction targeting math deficits for students needing tiers 2 and 3 services. They will also meet regularly with the principals and teachers to discuss student progress, benchmark data, and engagement to ensure students are receiving appropriate services. The Math Interventionist will also be required to engage in a yearly 2 week professional learning session, as well as, monthly professional learning opportunities organized by RTI specialists. The Math Interventionist will:  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

  • Consult frequently with principals and instructional staff on matters relating to math using benchmarking data and progress-monitoring data.  
  • Spend at least 32 hours weekly providing direct services to students needing tiers 2 and 3 services in a small group setting or with individual students.
  • Create lessons and deliver engaging lessons using evidence based instructional strategies.
  • Record and maintain progress monitoring including interventions used, material covered, and progress towards grade level proficiency. 
  • Meet regularly with principals and teachers to discuss student outcome data to ensure students are receiving appropriate services. 
  • Communicate with an RTI specialist when a student is not making sufficient progress.
  • Attend a 2 week summer professional learning session and monthly professional learning sessions.
  • Complete any professional  learning certification programs required by Epic Charter Schools.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Managing Director of Instruction and/or Director of RTI. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities for this role.  

 

Education and/or Experience       

       

  • Current and appropriate OK teaching license in  Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Special Education, or Mathematics

 

Qualifications 

  • Demonstrated aptitude and ability for successful performance of the Essential Functions listed.
  • Outstanding skill using technology, Google, and Microsoft Office suites appropriately and efficiently. 
  • Exhibits listening, patience, caring, and empathy when relating to staff and the community. 
  • Skills in effective oral and written communication with a high degree of accuracy. 
  • Skills to organize ideas, time, materials, and space with attention to detail to accomplish goals and meet deadlines.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge and understanding of best teaching practices in Kindergarten through 8th grade mathematics skills and concepts.
  • Ability to deliver effective instruction with small groups of students in a virtual environment.
  • Excellent data tracking skills

 

Language Skills                   

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standard scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

Mathematical Skills                   

Basic math skills required

 

Reasoning Ability                   

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills                   

To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Google applications, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the school's business operations.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

  • Current driver's license
  • Administration certification preferred

 

Other Qualifications                  

  • Must be able to pass a state-mandated background check after a conditional offer of employment is made
  • Must have favorable employment references
