Job Title: Learning Center Reading Interventionist

Reports To: Managing Director of Instruction

Compensation Range: $52,500

Summary:

The Reading Interventionist will be assigned to a specific Managing Director of Instruction to provide direct student instruction for students needing tiers 2 and 3 services.They will serve as a member of their instructional team by participating in school-based professional learning communities (PLCs) /Managing Director of Instruction team meetings.

 

The Reading Interventionist will work extensively with their principals and teachers in their team to provide direct instruction for students needing tiers 2 and 3 services targeting literacy skill deficits. They will also meet regularly with the Managing Director of Instruction, principals, and teachers to discuss student progress, benchmark data, and engagement to ensure students are receiving appropriate services. The Reading Interventionist will also be required to engage in a yearly 2 week professional learning session, as well as, monthly professional learning opportunities organized by RTI specialists. The Reading Interventionist will:

Skills and Knowledge

 

Language Skills                   

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standard scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

Mathematical Skills                   

Basic math skills required

 

Reasoning Ability                   

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills                   

To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Google applications, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the school's business operations.
